if the value is higher that 70% of the total value of the car (based in NADA value) then it's considered a total loss. If it's less than 70% and they decide to repair it, then make sure you have the insurance adjuster look at the Z at the body shop you are going to get the work done, so that the bodyshop and INS appraisers are talking from the begining. Also one thing you may want to check to see if the chassis was bent is by checking the gap on the doors hood, hatch, etc, left to right and viseversa, it should be the same on both sides.
